Furmiston, Carsphairn in South West Scotland is home to the Heatherley Fold of Highland Cattle.

• This is a large Fold of Pedigree Highland Cattle reared commercially on rough Scottish moorland.   One hundred and twenty pedigree cows, plus young stock, are run on the hill, with a percentage now being crossed with the Beef Shorthorn bull.

• This hardy Fold was established to suit the type of land and the lack of buildings on the farm, i.e. the cattle are all outwintered and reared naturally.
