Furmiston is a 1000 acre Hill Farm situated in South West Scotland, 25 miles north of Castle Douglas. This is the area known as The Glenkens. The farm has a South Westerly aspect and receives about 60 inches of rain per annum. The land is predominantly peat bog, with many rocky outcrops, and rises to a height of about 1000 feet. | |
In addition to the Highland Cattle, the farm grazes a hefted flock of 500 Scotch Blackface ewes, which lamb from the end of April into May. | ![]() |
